Kodachi Kuno is experimenting with an old Amazon recipe called "Bridal Spice" in the hopes that it will get Ranma Saotome into her bed. Later Ranma and Akane Tendo enter his room and see a bouquet of black roses, Akane leaping to the conclusion that he has invited Kodachi over. Ranma tries to throw the roses out the window as Nabiki Tendo comes along to find out what all the noise is about, only to have the bouquet explode on him releasing a gas. Ranma is suddenly terrified of the two gives and goes through the window to escape them. While Akane goes in pursuit of Ranma to punish him for acting in a stupid manner, Nabiki puts in a call to the Nekohanten for some ramen and find out if they know of a spice that can induce terror...
